Accessibility

Accessibility Statement

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text. This statement sets out where we stand honestly — including what still needs work.

1. Our commitment

Many of the people who use this site are living with a disability, supporting someone who is, or are under real stress while trying to arrange care. An awkward website is not a minor inconvenience in that situation. We take accessibility seriously because of who our visitors are.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

2. How accessible this site is

Before publishing: this section should state the result of an actual audit. Until the site has been tested against WCAG 2.2 AA — ideally with a screen reader and keyboard-only navigation — describe it as partially conformant rather than claiming full compliance. An overstated claim is worse than an honest gap.

We believe this website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. The known gaps are listed below.

3. What we have done

  • Text and background colours have been checked for contrast
  • All pages can be navigated using a keyboard alone
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text
  • Form fields have visible, correctly associated labels
  • Headings follow a logical order so screen reader users can navigate by structure
  • The site works when text is enlarged up to 200%
  • Layouts adapt to phones, tablets and desktops without loss of content
  • Meaningful landmarks and ARIA labels are used for navigation regions

4. Known issues

We would rather tell you about these than have you discover them:

  • Some dropdown menus in the main navigation may be difficult to operate with certain assistive technologies
  • A small number of decorative animations do not yet respond to the reduced motion setting
  • Some longer pages do not have a skip-to-content link
  • Third-party embedded content, such as maps, is outside our direct control

We are working through these. If one of them is stopping you from doing something, contact us and we will help you directly in the meantime.

5. Getting information another way

If any part of this site is not working for you, we will provide the same information in whatever format suits you better — over the phone, by email, in large print, in easy read, or in person. There is no charge and you do not need to explain why. Email info@gotohealthcare.co.uk and tell us what would help.

6. Adjusting your own device

AbilityNet provides free, clear guidance on making your computer, phone or tablet easier to use — including changing text size, colours, and using a screen reader. Visit My Computer My Way.

7. Telling us about a problem

If you find something that does not work, please tell us. It genuinely helps, and we will not treat it as a complaint unless you want us to.

Email info@gotohealthcare.co.uk with the page address and a short description of what happened. We aim to reply within five working days.

8. If we do not respond

Service providers have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments. If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) on 0808 800 0082 or via equalityadvisoryservice.com.

This statement was prepared on 19 August 2026. It will be reviewed annually and whenever the website changes significantly.
